But first, a review..

Welcome to my blog! It’s been a while in the making and I’m so excited to share my thoughts with you guys! This blog is going to be pretty much about all aspects of makeup including tutorials, reviews and Q&A.

I get asked a fair bit which stores I order makeup from online. So, I thought I would start by answering this question for you guys. Instead of reviewing the obvious ones, I thought I would tell you about the smaller companies I’ve dealt with in the last few months and my experiences with them.

So, I’m going to jump right in with Crush Cosmetics (www.crushcosmetics.com.au)
Crush Cosmetics are amazing!

They stock over 30 brands with more than 4000 items available. They had things I specifically needed for my kit such as Beauty Blenders, Red Cherry Eyelashes and Z Palettes. Something that also attracted me to Crush Cosmetics is that they offer professional discount. I sent them my makeup Diploma and within a day they had signed me up to their professional discount program. They have really great customer service.

I placed my order on Monday 17th October 2016 and received my order 3 days later.

My order was packaged in a Crush Cosmetics paper bag inside a box, all products arrived in good condition with no breakages. No free samples from these guys but they do have the option of Afterpay which I love. They are an Australian business with free ground shipping if you spend over $80, express and international shipping is also available and they have a 14 day return policy. They also have a wholesale program if this applies to you.

I think Crush Cosmetics would have to be my favourite new company to order from and I have already started my next order 🙂




Next on my list is Adore Beauty (www.adorebeauty.com.au)

I love Adore Beauty! I placed my order with these guys in September and received it in 2-3 days.

I ordered The Balm – In The Balm Of Your Hands Palette, The Balm- Mary-Lou Manizer and Benefit – Hoola Bronzer. There was no professional discount but I did receive 2 free samples and a Tim Tam…so cute! I received these samples because my order was over $50.
They wrapped and packaged my order well. Everything was in perfect condition.
Their customer service was great and there were no dramas at all. Shipping is also free for all orders within Australia which I LOVE. They stock nearly all of my favourite brands.
They also have Afterpay! Woohoo!




Crystal Minx (www.crystalminx.com.au)

On their site it reads ‘We value quality and all of our cosmetics are 100% authentic’. They only buy direct from the brand or their authorized stockists and are happy to provide proof of purchase. They are also Australian owned and operated. They have heaps of in-demand items! I was weary of ordering from a smaller company as I was worried that the items would not be authentic and that I may not even receive them as this has happened in the past. Thankfully, this was not the case. I had a great experience with customer service, I messaged asking if they had professional discount and while they don’t at the moment they very kindly gave me a one-time discount code (Thanks Crystal Minx!).

I ordered the Anastasia’s Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit.  The price was $82.99 but because I couldn’t find it anywhere else and they have Afterpay I didn’t mind paying that price.

Shipping was $12 for express postage and they only ship to Australia and New Zealand at the moment.
All in all, it was a little bit more than I was used to paying but I really wanted the product and I was happy to support a smaller Australian company.

My Moonchild kit was authentic and super gorgeous… like a unicorn dream!
I will definitely be buying from them in the future.










Beauty Bay (www.beautybay.com )

Ok, I don’t know what is going on at the moment with Beauty Bay and the bad reviews i have been seeing! I ordered from them because they undeniably have great brands and it was the only place that I could order Makeup Geek from to save myself some shipping costs.

On October 25th, I spent $162.80 on a Gerard Lipstick in Buttercup, Makeup GeekEyeshadows, Foiled Eyeshadows and Durochrome Eyeshadows. Because I spent that amount I received a free Premiere sample. I also got the free international tracked shipping because…hell no I was not going to lose my MUG eyeshadows!

The next day I got an email saying that ‘it had been despatched (sic)’ but there was no tracking number. On Nov 4th, I sent an email asking for my tracking number and received a generic reply saying that someone will get back to me soon. I emailed again on the 5th asking for the tracking number, they emailed back saying someone will get back to me soon, they sent through my tracking details on Nov 9th which was the day my order arrived. It took 15 days to arrive despite the international tracking which said it would take 7 – 10 days. When it arrived, the box was badly damaged. The products weren’t packed well and three of the eyeshadows were smashed on arrival. Devastated!  After reading all the bad reviews I decided not to contact customer service as I really didn’t think it would get me anywhere, but it was pretty bad considering the broken eyeshadows were $15.50 each, $46.50 all up! So, I fixed the eyeshadows myself (stay tuned for my tutorial on makeup fixing!). It sucks because it’s the only place that’s easy for me to get Makeup Geek from. They don’t currently offer Afterpay.


So, I hope you all found this helpful if you’re thinking of ordering from these companies.

  1. Great review of those different companies! I’ve only dealt with Beauty Bay myself, but I had no problems whatsoever! I am from the UK though, so obviously damage through shipping is minimal. I’m glad you were able to fix your shadows and I’ll definitely look out for that tutorial!
